The agency recently helped organize a major press conference for the Winnipeg Football Club. With the Club’s transition to a new state-of-the-art stadium in the future and several major announcements to make, all the agency’s departments were engaged.

The communications department developed a strategic and tactical plan to ensure all stages would be covered and that media-accessible collateral would lead to a successful press conference. As part of our deliverables, we developed a news release, media advisory, speaking program and a speech. We also collaborated with the client on all event details, key messages, visuals and the event plan.

Members of our creative team developed a look and feel to showcase the stadium as a world-class sports facility. Visuals were developed for the event’s PowerPoint presentation, stadium maps, a splash page for the Bombers’ home webpage, press kit folders and letterhead.

Our account services department helped coordinate a promotional video based on Virtual Venue, an online tool that allows for exploration of the new stadium in 3D, and which was screened at the event as the showpiece. At event time, the link went live on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers website for public and media use and download.

The resulting media coverage was tremendous and the client was pleased with the outcome. National and local news, and sports reporters filled the Blue & Gold Room at the Winnipeg Football Club stadium. The majority of reporters filed not one but two stories: an online version and another in either TV, radio or print. Virtually all stories incorporated a portion of the promotional video as well as the link to the tool itself, helping to drive more traffic to the client’s website.

“The press conference tone, messaging and visuals are all in line with the experience fans can anticipate at the future home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers,” said account director and long-time Bomber fan, Jesse Cringan. “The new stadium at the University of Manitoba will offer the type of world-class amenities and atmosphere never before seen in Manitoba and Bomber brand executions are being strategically elevated to properly reflect this.”
