Senior Motion Graphic Designer

Job Summary and Scope

Reporting to the Art Creative Director, you will work collaboratively with other members of the McKim.Sherpa team to create and deliver complex graphics, animation, and live video content for a diverse array of media, including smartphones, handheld electronic devices, the web and television, among others, from conceptualization to storyboard and editing.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Develop, test, document, and deploy high performance creative that drives ROI for McKim.Sherpa clients using a variety of tools and techniques
  • Ability to tell stories through creative execution of graphic design, video and illustration
  • Build animatics and storyboards
  • Collaborate with art directors on conceptualizing and ensuring brand consistency
  • Edit music, SFX and VOs to work with visuals, with precise timing
  • Work independently
  • Ensure projects meets company standards and client goals
  • Deliver tasks within given deadlines and budgets

Required Competencies

  • Strong typography skills
  • Great portfolio of work

  • Excellent communication, time management, troubleshooting, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Diligence and commitment to quality assurance and self-assessment of your own work

Technical Requirements

  • Adobe Creative Suite – Premiere, After Effects, Animate, Photoshop, Illustrator

  • Understanding of special effects, 3D and compositing

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in graphic design/digital media
  • 5 – 7 years experience

Art Director/Senior Designer

  • You have 7+ years of advertising experience working as a graphic designer at an agency, as well as a post-secondary diploma/degree in graphic design
  • You’re creative, a communicator, troubleshooter, analytical, and have great time management and interpersonal skills
  • You’re familiar working as part of an art director/writer team but are also self-driven and can work independently
  • You bring a great portfolio of campaign work
  • You are adept at translating a brief into brilliant advertising concepts and can execute from start to finish always considering next steps
  • You work within budgets and deadlines and can juggle several
    tasks at once.
  • You have a strong competency in Adobe Creative Suite, but get bonus points for having diverse skill sets
  • You thrive under pressure and in an environment that is constantly changing

This is a Senior position, requiring experience working in an agency environment. Reporting to the Creative Director, the Art Director/Senior Graphic Designer will also work collaboratively with other members of the McKim.Sherpa team taking part in brainstorms, creative development and the production process. The Art Director/Senior Graphic Designer will have many projects under their belt, and will have strong leadership skills.
